Building Character
In order to be successful in anything we do it is necessary to work on building character. A great way to build character is make others the priority, work with them on their goals and needs instead of being consumed with yours.
It is unfortunate that many times we are focused only on the “ME” syndrome. It can become a real sickness. We turn our focus from ourself to others and focus on them. We start to lose the selfish attitude and start to do the right things for others.  How can you be selfish and not do the right thing when your focus is not on you? Is it possible to be selfish when you see the greatness in others as you help them to achieve their dreams? I don’t think its very likely. In fact, giving to others will avail to you the qualities of compassion, empathy, honesty, generosity, and courage bestowing you with the good fortune of strong character.
We must also develop the mindset of having a strong character. That means guarding against negative talk,of others or of yourself, and becoming fully aware that you are in control of what happens in your world.
You can learn to replace negative input with positive reinforcement in order to maintain focus and forward-moving actions through concentration and dedication to a new way of being you. You cannot change others; you can only change yourself. By changing your mindset, you can change and improve the experience of your world.
It can be a challenge however we must learn to be patient with others, with the knowing that they are doing the best they can with what they have in the moment. Give them praise for doing right , but never give praise to a job that’s not done well. That only shows you are willing to compromise your standards for potentially as many reasons as people will assign to your actions.
Always acknowledge the effort and celebrate the progress of others with genuine sincerity in order for your character to be likewise inspired and emboldened.
This should go without saying, you must always, do the right thing even if it is against popular opinion or seemingly against the evidence facing you.
When your ethics, values and character are strong, the right thing will surely be known to you in any situation. When you demonstrate these virtues you can look in the mirror and like what you see at any time.
I suggest you spend some time reflecting on the state of your character, and discover where you could fortify it by presenting yourself in a new way in your life. If there is a situation that warrants your attention, get it handled. If someone looks to you as a role model, be the very best role model you can be for that person. You can take focused action to build your character to gain self-respect and harness the power of your character to propel yourself to ultimate success.
