<p>Think about McDonald&#8217;s – this  American business that started out decades ago selling hamburgers, French fries  and milkshakes has blossomed into one of the strongest businesses in the  world.   What is the McDonald&#8217;s <strong>Secret To Success</strong>?   You got it  – <strong>a system!</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Each and every McDonald&#8217;s restaurant is a  franchise – which means a McDonald&#8217;s restaurant owner has paid McDonald&#8217;s  corporation for the rights to run that restaurant.   The owner is provided with  a giant golden M to hang above the door, and a system – the same  <strong>system</strong> that every McDonald&#8217;s restaurant must follow.<strong> The system </strong>is completely plug and play, and includes everything from  what tables to use and how often to sweep the floor to how many seconds the  fries should be cooked for and how many pieces of tomato are in every  burger.</p>
<p>This is why a completely inexperienced teenager, with a squeaky  voice and a case of acne, can get a job at McDonald&#8217;s and fill your order for a  Big Mac, a side salad, a baked apple pie and a soft drink with the expertise of  a brain surgeon.   They follow the preplanned and ever-so-thoroughly spelled out  instructions provided to them by the McDonald&#8217;s  <strong>system</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Systems </strong>are powerful.   Systems  turn simple actions and combinations of actions into profitable ventures.   If  you are considering startin g your own business then a solid working system  should be at the top of your list.</p>
<p>If it is true that 90% of businesses  fail within the first 5 years then it is also probably true that a large  proportion of the remaining 10% have got their system in place. Businesses fail  because they were either not proven to work in the first place, or they were not  following a good enough <strong>system.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Having a  <strong>system</strong> to follow is one of the main reasons that people choose  network marketing as their business method of choice.   Network marketing is an  industry that is based on having systems and plans to follow, and this makes  doing business much easier and makes success a lot easier to  achieve.</p>
<p>Many people decide to start a home business for lots of  different reasons.   Some keep their “day jobs” until the home business really  takes off, and work at the home business during their spare time.   Some people  don&#8217;t have a regular job and decide to take on a network marketing business full  time. <p><span>Never underestimate the importance of self improvement in <strong>MLM  business</strong>.<strong> Improve yourself and improve your business.</strong> No matter what product or service you may think that you are selling, the thing  that you are truly selling is yourself.  In traditional business models this is  true during the interview process to get hired, it is true during the day to day  work process as you attempt to impress your bosses and it is true when you are  with customers and clients as you need them to want to work with you, as you are  the face of the product or service you are selling.  This is at least twice as  true in an <strong>MLM business</strong>.</span></p>
<p><span>The key to success in an MLM venture is to remember that you are not only  trying to sell product, you are trying to recruit new people to the  organization.   Regardless of whether they are enticed to buy a ton of product  from you, if they like what they see in you, and want to be like you, they are  more likely to sign up with your organization, which has the potential to make  you even more money in the long run than a hefty order.   For this reason you  cannot stress enough the importance of self improvement.   In MLM, you are the  company.    How you compose yourself tells potential business associates what  kind of business you really have and is how they will decide whether or not they  want to join up.</span></p>
<p><span>Self improvement is not limited to just how you look though.    A great pair  of shoes and a sharp haircut are nice, but if you still stumble over your words  and don’t use active listening techniques in your presentation, you won’t get  very far.    The importance of self improvement in <strong>MLM business</strong> is that it gives you an opportunity to really be someone that your potential  recruits will want to be like.   People want to follow other people that are  successful. They aim to be around people that are attractive because of the  energy that surrounds them. Self improvement is all about having a positive aura  that will draw people in.</span></p>
<p><span>The importance of self improvement cannot be overstated.    By growing  yourself as a person, you have the unique opportunity to grow your business as  well.    Become the person that you have always wanted to be and you will find  that other people will want to join you, learn from you and try to be just like  you.    And that is how, in MLM, you can make the real money.</span></p>

the event. These are “public” forums and  platforms where the masses congregate.</span></p>
<p><span>Engaging in the “connected conversation” is  vital.<br />
These are all things you can do to establish the “celebrity” factor in  your brand.</span></p>
<p><span>You hang out at cool events and rub shoulders  with the super stars and recognized names<br />
in the industry. Some of that  celebrity is transferred to you by default.<br />
Cultivate it and seek it out with  intention.</span></p>

<p><span>The key in this secret is all about getting your  <strong>TEAM</strong> together.</span></p>
<p><span>When you start out you may be required to “boot  strap” your business.<br />
The only thing on your mind may be “I hope we break  even this month.”</span></p>
<p><span>You have to THINK BIGGER than that.<br />
You have  to DREAM BIGGER than that.</span></p>
<p><span>Are you really going into business for mediocre  results?<br />
Are you really going to take the entrepreneurial journey just to  break even?</span></p>
<p><span>You have to BECOME BIGGER than that.</span></p>

<p>Social media is all the rage these days.</p>
<p>Everyone&#8217;s pretends to be an expert at it.</p>
<p>And if you ask some of these &#8220;experts&#8221;, they really do believe Twitter and  Facebook are the 8th and 9th wonders of the world &#8212; the twin <em>messiahs</em> that will usher in a new age of business peace and prosperity.</p>
<p>I kinda don&#8217;t think so, chief.</p>
<p>Yes, they have their uses.</p>
<p>But most of the REAL profits are not made on Twitter or Facebook or any  &#8220;social media&#8221; site.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re made with ANTIsocial media.</p>
<p>Media that&#8217;s one-sided conversations.</p>
<p>With little or no interactivity.</p>
<p>Take, for example&#8230;<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Direct mail</strong></p>
<p>I just talked to one of the top direct mail consultants on the planet  yesterday.  He&#8217;s mailing something like 50k postcards per week selling a &#8220;how to  make money in real estate&#8221; product.</p>
<p>Real estate?</p>
<p>Isn&#8217;t that dead?</p>
<p>Not in direct mail apparently&#8230;<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Magazine ads</strong></p>
<p>I remember a few years ago, when Dan Kennedy talked about a small display ad  for men who want to be taller, how it had been running non-stop since&#8230; before  he was even born!</p>
<p>Just chugs and chugs along, year after year.</p>
<p>Decade after decade&#8230;</p>
<p>Try doing that with a <em>Tweet</em>&#8230;<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>PPC ads</strong></p>
<p>Even though most of the goo-roo fanboys are banned from AdWords (how are  those &#8220;sneaky little tricks&#8221; working for ya?), that doesn&#8217;t mean PPC isn&#8217;t  kicking major gluteus assimus.</p>
<p>There are people doing HUGE numbers with PPC.</p>
<p>Yes, even with all of PPC&#8217;s silly rules.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Email</strong></p>
<p>Like it or not, you&#8217;ll build your business far faster regularly mailing a  list of 5,000 qualified email subscribers than you will lobbing tweets at 100k  twitter followers all day (assuming you know what you&#8217;re doing, of  course&#8230;)</p>
<p>Alright enough!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not totally knocking social media.</p>
<p>After all, I use it myself.</p>
<p>But compared to most media it&#8217;s like sitting at the kid&#8217;s table trying to  out-scream each other for attention, while the REAL business is being done at  the adult&#8217;s table.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s my opinion, leastways.</p>
<p>And me thinks the numbers agree&#8230;</p>

<p><strong>Social network marketing</strong> is an effective free marketing strategy   that you can use. To be effective in <strong>social network marketing</strong> you really need to know what you are doing!</p>
<p>Of course not everyone knows how to market using social networks effectively.    I have found facebook to be highly effective.</p>
<p>When you take a close look at your Facebook newsfeed what do you really see??    You see everyone promoting their latest and greatest business opportunity to  anyone who will listen, and even to those who have no interest at all.</p>
<p>Then next month you see the same people promoting something else or you see  people promoting 5+ different programs. Do you think anyone will take you  seriously when you do this.. Well the answer is no.   If you want to be  successful at social media, you must become a marketer and not be perceived as a  peddler. A marketer is constantly promoting themselves and creating their  personal branding.</p>
<p>In <strong>social network marketing</strong> you need to promote you not  products, services, or opportunities you are in.</p>
<p>All to often network marketers are seen as jumpers.   You never know what  they will present you with because its always something different.   In  attraction marketing you want people to become attracted to you and that is the  way to get results on sites like Facebook.</p>
<p>Here are a few tips I can suggest when using facebook.</p>
<p>Add Friends – Most people add friends by adding people they consider large  leaders or the big boys of networking. Then try to add that persons friends. You  want to do the exact opposite.   Go to different network marketing groups and  also see if there are any groups you feel good about adding.</p>
<p>Groups – Most people add themselves to as many groups as possible and post  their link to their business opportunity.  Add yourself to groups of great  influence.   Post to the group wall a  funded proposal.   If the group allows  videos and links, add those to the group as well.</p>
<p>Start Your Own Group – Start your own group around You and your interest not  around your products, services or opportunity. Then offer valuable content and  resources to your group members.</p>
<p>Your Friends Wall – Instead of posting a quick message on your friend&#8217;s  wall  saying hi or join my business, I suggest you create a welcome video and tag your  new friends in it.   Introduce yourself and let people know that you are here to  help them.</p>
<p>Cross Promote Your Group – Contact other group members in your niche and  offer to invite your group members to their group if they will do the same  thing. If you put these practices into action you will achieve success.</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s article is one of my favorites,<strong> providing value by James Ray.</strong>. There are so many pearls of wisdom here. I hope you spot them.</p>
<p>&#8220;Wealth will never be achieved when sought after directly&#8230;it only comes as the by-product of providing useful service.&#8221; &#8211; Henry Ford</p>
<p>Years ago, this wise statement was made by a man who changed history. During the same time Ford was asked, &#8220;Henry, if you were to lose it all (your wealth) today&#8230;what would you do?&#8221; He quickly replied, &#8220;I would find a unique human need and fill it; and in no time at all, I would have it all back.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you have read my book, <strong>&#8220;The Science of Success,&#8221; </strong>you know that I have an entire chapter devoted to the Power of Giving. Often individuals look at me incredulously when I tell them that, without fail, &#8220;All winners are great givers.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;What does giving have to do with success? EVERYTHING! In a recent interview with my dear friend William Todd (who is a giant in the network marketing industry &#8211; making more in a month than most do in a year) I asked him, &#8220;What is one of the first things you tell your new business partners?&#8221; (read new recruits, read new hires to your company). He immediately responded, &#8220;I tell them it (success) is not about them.&#8221;</p>
<p>I asked him to expound. &#8220;I tell people to succeed in business you must get yourself out of the way and think about how you can help others.&#8221;</p>
<p>Where is your focus for the New Year? Are you all caught up in yourself and your desires? Or are you confident that your desires will come as a by-product of helping others? As a by-product of providing 10 times the value to those you interact with in your life?</p>
<p>This is a tricky because you and I know that many don&#8217;t really know what THEY want. This is the first step: a BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goal) thinking on the scale of King Kong (remember that one?) The human spirit will not invest in mediocrity!</p>
<p>Once you have this step completed, you then must make a critical shift in your thought process. You must begin thinking of how you can assist others in creating what THEY want.</p>
<p>So we have a simple formula for success in the new millennium: 1. Know exactly what you want and 2. Focus on helping others define and achieve what they want. Period!</p>
<p>Is it that simple? Of course, there are many peripherals and details – but this is the foundation from which your mind must operate.</p>
<p>Get your vision clear this week if you have not yet done that. Make sure you are thinking BIG (like Kong or bigger <img src='http://herbhunter1.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_surprised.gif' alt=':o' class='wp-smiley' /> ). And then I want you to ask yourself – how can I serve others in the achievement of this vision? What immense value can I provide so that when I leave this earth I have touched the lives of others in a positive way? How can I provide value to society in greater and greater measure?</p>
<p>Understand that providing value does not mean you have to be Mother Teresa. Yes, she provided tremendous value to the world in HER way, and so does Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, the sales professional in the company I worked with last week, the network marketing leader that helps her people grow their business, the father who loves and teaches his children&#8230;you get the idea?</p>
<p>What you do is important – but more important is HOW you go about doing it.</p>
<p>Provide 10 times more value – have a great week – and make your life magnificent!</p>

<p>Ouch! Someone hit me over the head with a baseball bat again. Not literally, of course, but it hurts just as much and it had me run for the Aspirin.<br />
Over the weekend, I invited several people to be my friend at one of the top social networks. Unfortunately, one person mistook it as an invitation to spam me with his business opportunity.  Now, I will give this gentleman the benefit of doubt and assume he didn’t know any better. But this is a sure-fire way to get scratched off of my friends list. Like most social network members, I am there to build relationships.</p>
<p><strong>Don’t take your clothes off on the very first date …</strong></p>
<p>Spamming people who sent you a friends request with your business opportunity, is like taking your clothes off on the very first date. It accomplishes absolutely nothing. Rather it sends people running. Not a good way to start a relationship.</p>
<p><strong>Let  me ask you this …</strong></p>
<p>If your husband (or wife) would have asked you to marry them on your very first date, would you have said “YES?” I certainly wouldn’t have. My (future) husband would have scared me off and I would have run for the hills. And what a shame that would have been, because I would have never found out what a great guy he is.</p>
<p>So please, don’t make that mistake. Don’t rob people of the opportunity to get to know you, by spamming them with your business opportunity on your first ‘Social Media Date’. Don’t make them scratch you off of their friends list.</p>
<p><strong>Instead…</strong></p>
<p>Get to know them.<br />
Share some valuable information with them.<br />
Offer your help.<br />
Start a discussion by asking questions about their family, their hobbies, etc.<br />
Comment on their pictures or on their bio or status.<br />
Get involved and find out if you have common interests<br />
People will buy from and/or join people they know, like and trust. So give them a chance to get to know you as a person first. Eventually they will ask you the $64,000 question … “What do you do?”</p>
<p>What kind of behavior do you dislike? In other words, what makes you drop people off of your friends list?</p>

<p>Positive thinking can actually disempower us if we are not careful. This happens at the times when we “pretend” that everything is good with us. This type of so called positive thinking is actually just delusion and very harmful. Did you ever know someone stuck in an unhealthy relationship and refusing to admit or change it? This type of thinking is a “false positive”. It is a setup for disappointment when we arrive at the truth of what we so diligently thought positively about.</p>

<p>Many businesspeople achieve their greatest successes in unexpected areas. They begin a business and then they find that it isn&#8217;t as profitable as they had anticipated, so they change direction, using their experience and their momentum, and strike pay dirt in something else. The most important thing is to begin, to take action. To move forward one step at a time, learning and growing as you go. There is enough information available in virtually every field for you to become knowledgeable enough to achieve success. But action is necessary.  </p>
<p><strong>THE TWO PARTS OF SUCCESS </strong> </p>
<p>Success author Orison Swett Marden once wrote, the first part of success is get-to-it-iveness. The second part is stick-to-it-iveness. Every business beginning requires an act of faith and courage, a bold leap into the unknown. Only one in ten people who want to start their own business ever develop enough courage to begin and enough persistence to continue. Get-to-it-iveness. And stick-to-it-iveness. The fear of failure, more than anything else, holds people back. It paralyzes action. And it makes failure inevitable.  </p>
<p><strong>BEGIN WITH A DREAM  </strong></p>
<p>Fortunately, even if you know nothing about business, you can begin with a dream, a castle in the air, and then build a foundation under it.  </p>

The starting point of many great fortunes has been these seven simple steps. Number one, set a goal and back it with a burning desire. <p>Number three, use your current job as a springboard to later success. Learn while you earn. Take the long view. Number four, experiment in business on a limited scale so you can learn the key abilities necessary for success. Number five, search for problems, needs unmet, products or services you can supply of good quality at reasonable prices.  </p>
<p><strong>READ EVERYTHING YOU CAN FIND<br />

Number six, read everything you can find on your chosen field. Remain flexible. Be willing to change your mind if you get different information. And number seven, implement your plans with courage and persistence. Have complete faith in your ability to succeed and never, never give up.  </p>

<p>Now, here are two actions you can take immediately to start moving toward entrepreneurial success:  </p>
<p>First, set a goal, make a plan and then launch your plan. Get started. Do something. Begin on a small scale with limited risk and investment but get going!  </p>

<p><strong>Less is More&#8230;.</strong></p>
<p>Less really is more, if you allow it to be and take the time to find out what you can let go of because it is controlling your life. Because of this, more and more people are seeking simplicity – that thing that we all feel like we are missing and want to get back. Instead of clutter and chaos, we want a flow to life where we can feel on top of things, rested and satisfied. Our “solution” is to try to get it all done now so we can rest or have fun later. But “later” never seems to come!</p>
<p>Do you beat yourself up to do more? Do you feel stressed that you are constantly falling behind? Please do not do this to yourself! It is so unhealthy.</p>
<p>When you overbook, you actually get LESS done than if you had undertaken a more modest amount of responsibility. That is because in trying to do too much, your energy depletes to the point that you incapacitate yourself. Pretty soon, you are so fraught with fatigue and frustration that you are slipping up on things you are typically great at – and it is a result of exhaustion and overwhelm. Before you know it, it is another day, with more of the same… the never ending story of your stressed-out life!</p>
<p>Instead of racing around to catch up, stop and take a breath. Recognize that you simply cannot do it all. Acknowledge that when it comes to feeling good, getting things done, and living richly… less really is more! It may seem hard at first to embrace this concept and make it work for you, but as you practice and see it working it will become more and more effective and will eventually become second nature to do.</p>
<p>Once you realize this, you will probably be wondering just how you can create less from the piles of “more” that you have accumulated over the years. The secret is learning how to trim away the excess. Rid yourself of that which does not serve you or help you move closer to your goals and aspirations. Here are some tips to help you get started on “closet cleaning” your life from top to bottom.</p>
<p>Identify what is important to you. What are your values? What do you believe in, and wish to live in support of, through your actions and words, each and every day? The key is to identify what it is that you hold in highest regard, so that you may actively bring these things into your life, instead of the things that you do not want or need.</p>
