Today’s blog is a article written by Ben Settle titled Social Media– vs– Anti Social Media. I was not that surprised at what Ben had to say. Read the blog for a real eye opening view, then make your own decision.

Social media is all the rage these days.

Everyone’s pretends to be an expert at it.

And if you ask some of these “experts”, they really do believe Twitter and Facebook are the 8th and 9th wonders of the world — the twin messiahs that will usher in a new age of business peace and prosperity.

I kinda don’t think so, chief.

Yes, they have their uses.

But most of the REAL profits are not made on Twitter or Facebook or any “social media” site.

They’re made with ANTIsocial media.

Media that’s one-sided conversations.

With little or no interactivity.

Take, for example…

Direct mail

I just talked to one of the top direct mail consultants on the planet yesterday. He’s mailing something like 50k postcards per week selling a “how to make money in real estate” product.

Real estate?

Isn’t that dead?

Not in direct mail apparently…

Magazine ads

I remember a few years ago, when Dan Kennedy talked about a small display ad for men who want to be taller, how it had been running non-stop since… before he was even born!

Just chugs and chugs along, year after year.

Decade after decade…

Try doing that with a Tweet…

PPC ads

Even though most of the goo-roo fanboys are banned from AdWords (how are those “sneaky little tricks” working for ya?), that doesn’t mean PPC isn’t kicking major gluteus assimus.

There are people doing HUGE numbers with PPC.

Yes, even with all of PPC’s silly rules.

Email

Like it or not, you’ll build your business far faster regularly mailing a list of 5,000 qualified email subscribers than you will lobbing tweets at 100k twitter followers all day (assuming you know what you’re doing, of course…)

Alright enough!

I’m not totally knocking social media.

After all, I use it myself.

But compared to most media it’s like sitting at the kid’s table trying to out-scream each other for attention, while the REAL business is being done at the adult’s table.

That’s my opinion, leastways.

And me thinks the numbers agree…

Here is a great article written by Natasha Nassar that I feel is right on. I wanted to share it with each of you. I titled it You Inc..The truth about branding you.

I’m pretty used to taking stands on controversial topics, and from what I’ve seen recently, discussing You, Inc. is one such topic. It seems everyone and their uncle has an opinion about this! (Me included!)

* - Should a beginner bill themselves as an “Expert” when they begin building their business?
* - Is it appropriate to call yourself an “Expert”?
* - Should you brand yourself?
* - Should you promote yourself?
* - If so, how can you even do that when you’re a total newbie?

Some say beginners can’t build You, Inc. because they haven’t “earned” that right (i.e, they don’t have a massive downline, haven’t made X amount of money, don’t have a list of 20,000,etc.).

I think that all of those pre-requisites are a bunch of bologna espoused by people trying to build themselves up as part of some elitist echelon of “gurus” or “wannabe gurus” while keeping others down. It’s very discouraging to people who are trying to make an honest “go” at achieving success after realizing the wisdom in building “You, Inc.” instead of their company/product.

And after all, isn’t the whole purpose of being a leader in this industry to help as many people as possible achieve their dreams?

For the life of me, I can’t figure out how telling someone they haven’t “earned” the right to brand themselves or call themselves an ”expert” on a particular subject or build You, Inc. is helping ANYONE achieve their dreams!

It would be like me, sitting in my office, thinking to myself “I’m an attorney, so therefore anyone who has fewer undergraduate/graduate degrees, can’t possibly have anything of value to offer me…” Holy Moley- that’s absurd! Surprised

Not surprisingly, I get pretty annoyed when I read things in the forums that insinuate that people don’t have or can’t have value if they don’t have X number of people in their downline or $X in residual income! How disappointed am I that these folks feel the need to minimize a person’s value?!?!

I firmly believe that people bring value to the marketplace in all shapes and sizes. What’s valuable to one person isn’t necessarily valuable to the next.

To the beginners here- YOU absolutely and 100% have VALUE to offer to people. Ignore anyone who says otherwise! They key is cultivating and appropriately marketing your unique value to your target market.

Sorry! Like I said, I’m not afraid to speak my mind when I believe passionately in something! Smile

In fact, I believe SO strongly in the importance of building your brand from the very beginning due to the massive mistake that caused me to go underground for a while (article HERE), that I’ve decided to make this my primary mission. I’m now laser focused on helping beginners discover their online identity and assist them in branding themselves, so that they can thrive online in whatever venture they are pursuing- direct sales, MLM, their own product/service…

I’ll be providing insight on the personal development skills necessary to determine what your “identity” is, along with the marketing skills of HOW to go about actually branding yourself (and how not to brand yourself)

So, having addressed the big debate, here are 5 quick tips on how a beginner can brand themselves.

1. Reflect on Skills You’ve Acquired Before Coming Online. Everyone’s experienced some form of success or achieved a goal in their life. Think about how you achieved that goal.

* What skills did you use?
* What mindset did you have?
* Can you utilize those skills online to help others achieve their goals?

For example, back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, a college friend and I decided to collect 10,000 stuffed animals for the youngest victims of the Hurricane. Long story short (the whole one is here), while working full-time at our jobs, we created an International stuffed animal drive, were able to collect and deliver 10,000 stuffed animals to the Coast victims and garner attention from the Washington Post and National Geographic for Kids in a matter of a few months!

How?

I branded myself appropriately, and through that, I was able to earn the confidence of large and small businesses, non-profits, churches and schools from around the county (and even some folks overseas!). In fact, while at No Excuses in Las Vegas, I had the epiphany that that’s the unique skill that I had before I came online- and that’s why I’ve decided to use that skill to help others achieve their goals through personal branding. So, enough about me!

* What’s your unique skill?
* What’s your X Factor that sets you apart from others?
* Or, to get uber-marketing technical- what’s your USP (Unique Selling Proposition)?

2. Pick an area and read up on it like crazy!

Mike Dillard spoke about this at the No Excuses and on several other occasions over the years- and he’s got a great point! Pick an area (it can either be a skill from #1 OR something totally different) and read up on it. Then, implement what you learn.

For example, let’s say that you decide that you love Facebook. Purchase some products on the topic and then share what you’ve learned. If you read several books on any given topic- you’ll know more than the majority of other folks. If you implement what you learn, and start generating some results (5 leads/ 50,000 leads it doesn’t matter) share it with others! In my opinion, I think that qualifies you as an expert.

3. Celebrate and Promote Small Successes.

You don’t need to make $20 Grand a month or generate 2000 leads in a day to promote your successes. If you’ve generated 5 leads online or personally sponsored 1 person online- you’ve done more than probably 75% of the people in the online network marketing community.

I can pretty much guarantee you, someone will be interested in reading about how you sponsored someone in the business using online tactics. The secret is in how you promote that small success while keeping in mind #4 below. I’ll be getting into how to do this in upcoming articles!

In my experience, by promoting a small success, you’ll garner another small success. Lump those together, and you’ll get another success. It’s the “Success Snowball” as I like to call it.

4. Be Authentic.

I can’t stress the importance of being authentic. People can smell a phony a mile away.

Be YOURSELF and for the love of Pete DON’T USE HYPE.

Like I said, you seriously don’t need 2000 leads or make 6 figures to attract people’s interest. I attracted plenty of people with far less success under my belt without ever using ANY hype. Your reputation is everything in this industry. Tarnish it out of the gate by being a hype monger, and you’re going to have a tough row to hoe! Being honest goes a LONG way in building rapport with your readers, prospects and team members. In the end- that’s what’ll help you sell whatever it is that you’re selling!

5. Quit Trying to Be Perfect.

Look, you don’t have to have the perfect fully-coordinated website/YouTube/Facebook page to start branding yourself. That’s icing on the cake. It’s far more important to get out there and start sharing your skill or techniques with others through forums, blog posts, videos, a free ebook- whatever method you choose.

So, those are my thoughts in a nutshell. I’m going to be going into much more detail on these topics and others related to personal branding in the future.

Sorry if I ruffled any feathers, but I believe with all of my heart that it’s never too early for people to start thinking about and beginning to build their unique brand. I believe in the power of personal branding. I’ve personally experienced just how powerful it can be and how it can literally change lives (yours and those around you).

And besides-I think it’s the only way that you can withstand the fallout when your company changes its comp plan, your upline heads for greener pastures, or you get an incurable rash from your company’s magic juice and decide to find a new opportunity!

To your success,

Here is great information on how to great results using video marketing. If you are currently using video marketing in your marketing arsenal (and if you aren’t then I suggest you bust out the ol’ video camera and start having a conversation with the world).

These 2 strategies alone has made a HUGE difference in the amount of views I get on my videos as well as the responses that I receive as well. So put on the student cap for the next 2 minutes and let’s dive deep

Video Marketing Strategy #1: Stare at the video camera the entire time that you are shooting your video.

I cannot even begin to tell you how powerful this is and this will make a big difference in the results you receive with video marketing. The reason why you want to do this with your videos is simply because when you stare at the video camera, you are literally looking your prospects in the eyes and it’s like you are in the room with them having a conversation.

When you are looking around everywhere instead of keeping eye contact, it basically says to your prospect that you aren’t focused and that you have other things on your mind besides wanting to talk to them. Think about this for a second, when you are talking with someone and they aren’t making eye contact with you, do you get the feeling that they aren’t listening? I thought so…

Action step: Stare at the camera the entire time you are making your video and really engage your viewer with your emotion to impact them in a big way.

Video Marketing Strategy #2: Tell your viewer in the first 9-15 seconds exactly what they are going to get from watching your video.

This is EXTREMELY important because with the internet nowadays, it’s like everyone has a mild case of ADD and if you are simply just rambling on and on in your video and don’t get to the point right away, your viewer is going to hit the back space button on their browser and they won’t even listen to your message.

Action Step: Say something like this right off the start of your video:

“Hey what’s going on my friend? This is (your name) and in the next X # of minutes, I’m seriously going to show you how you can begin to use (this strategy) to drastically improve ……(fill in the blank).

That being said, make sure you leave me a comment in the box below and let me know what you think about these strategies.

This article was written by Michael Stead.

Have you ever heard this in your business.. You need Tools, Tools, Tools.. Don’t get trapped into thinking you need all this stuff to be successful. I agree some tools are great to have but you don’t need them all. The most important thing you need is your image. You should also have your own personal auto responder, but don’t fall victim to the tool trap.

Here is a great video by Kim Shahan that illustrates the point.

How an Object Can Travel the World That Cost You Ten Cents

In today’s age there are websites and companies that are going online daily. Many of these websites that are going live are new entrepreneurs that have the idea of owning their own online business. As more and more of these entrepreneurs get online they are in need of the same thing as everyone else…traffic! Just like a traditional business needs foot traffic or customers walking through them, an online business needs traffic as well. While I have been an online entrepreneur and do much marketing online that we are all familiar with like article marketing, video marketing, and PPC. This is not one of those types of marketing strategies; this is one outside the internet arena.

People Steal These All the Time

What I consider one of the most powerful marketing tools you could invest in is one that people get stolen all the time. It is something that you always need many times a day and most people have hundreds of them around the office or home. It is a pen! A pen is an item that many people borrow but never give back, and it could potentially travel the world within a week or two. I really think that would be an interesting documentary. What if a tracking device was installed in a pen to see where it went? Think of the last time you lent a pen out and never got it back. Think if that pen had advertising on it for you business, how powerful could that be and how far could it go?

Where Could it End Up?

Now if you have the mindset like I do and also many other entrepreneurs, we think BIG. You have always got to think BIG or otherwise you will get left behind. Okay, follow me here….

You buy one hundred ball point pens for ten dollars, and you find a way to leave two in public reach for about 45 days. You have now got 90 traveling silent advertiser for you business, and what did you have to do….not much. Your pen has the potential to be in hundreds of different people’s hands by the end of the month. This will leave you with about 10 extra pens to do other things with.

Can You Follow the Pen?

Where does it go? Ok, say you are taking your spouse out to dinner at Applebee’s in Kansas City, MO. At the end of the dinner your waitress brings you the bill and a pen. You could accidentally switch her pen with one of your business pens or her leave her both. You then leave after signing the bill of course and then the rest of the night other patron’s are using your pen. Let’s say one patron is a school teacher that takes the pen and then it takes it to work with her the next day. Then she accidentally leaves it in the teachers’ lounge. The pen is then used by a few other teachers and one picks it up with all their papers and takes it to their night class. They just so happen so happen to sit next to someone who forgot their pen, and it is passed off as a “favor.”

This is Where it Gets Fun…

The fellow student that borrowed the pen as a “favor” takes it home and lays it on the counter at night. The next morning the fellow student’s spouse takes it to work at their car rental business. The spouse rents a car to a traveling business man from Hawaii. This business man “borrows” the pen only to slide it into his pocket; never to be returned. He gets back to his hotel for the night and looks at the pen, and then goes to your website. After being on the run for 14 hours he is tired and throws your pen in his briefcase. The next day he hops back on a plane to Hawaii to meet up with one of his business partners in Maui. It just so happens that his businesses partner is originally from Japan and travels home once every two months to see his mother. During the quick 30 minute meeting at the airport, his business partner “borrows” the pen and is off to Japan.

So What Did It Cost You?

Following the pen through about ten different people, the pen cost you ten cents and ten people wrote with it. If you know human nature like I do, they read the writing- we are all very inquisitive. Ok, I agree it cost you a dinner with your spouse, but you needed to do that anyways. So breaking this equation down into getting your business in front of people could be as low as one cent a person.

What Am I Doing?

I am reaching out to a great friend of mine, Ronni Sherman, which owns Creative Images or actually Cre8iveimages . I will tell you first of all, Ronni is a high class lady that considers customer service her top priority and goes the extra ten miles for every client. With Ronni’s business she not only offers pens but also:

Bags
Breath mints
Adhesive notes
Caps
Calendars
Golf balls
Badges
Buttons
Water bottles
And so much more!!!

So what I am trying to tell you is quite simple. A great way to get your company name out in the world at a low cost is promotional products.

If you are truly tired of the mundane 70+ hour work week, lost time with the family and feel there has to be a better way – I’m here to tell you there is !

This is information that is valuable to you. I have titled this post, finding the right mentors to help you build. The article was written by one of my favorites Michael Force.

The most obvious example I can think of when I think of why you need a good mentor is learning how to ride a bike.

Maybe you’re one of the few kids who just got on that bike and rode it without help. I wasn’t.

Whenever we’re learning anything, the people who help us are a major part of the reason we succeed.

The same is true of online business.

When you think about this, it makes perfect sense. You’ve had business mentors in every job you’ve ever had. These were the people who did everything from training you to telling you that your boss had custody of the kids on Tuesday nights so you shouldn’t approach him on Wednesday mornings.

Yes, as an online business owner you’re responsible for your own success. Part of that responsibility is realizing what you don’t know and finding the right people to teach you.

Fortunately, there are a lot of good people out there who have been wildly successful with their online businesses and now spend at least part of their time helping others achieve the same success.

My personal business model is based on the reality that my success results from helping other people realize their dreams. All of the best business mentors share that same mindset.

But how do you find the right online business mentor for you? After all, like I said there are a lot of great mentors out there.

There are also a lot of scam artists out there. The online world isn’t any different from the offline world in that regard.

With that fact in mind, here are some of the things you need to be looking out for when you choose your online business mentor or mentors:

• How successful has this person been? How successful is she or he now? You want someone with a proven track record who also successfully rides the fast-changing world of online business.

• What about the people who have worked with this mentor? What do they have to say about the experience, and exactly how have their businesses benefited?

• Exactly how much support does the mentor offer? Will you be meeting online only, or does he offer phone and/or in-person consultations as well? Is this style a comfortable fit for you?

• How quickly does the person respond to questions?
• Finally, is this person a good fit for you personally? Do you admire him or her for personal traits or just for business success? Hopefully this will be an ongoing business relationship. Be sure to pick someone you’re going to feel comfortable with for awhile.

Another thing you need to know is that you don’t just need good mentors when you’re starting out with your online business. I’ve been successful in this business for more than 10 years now, and I still seek out other seasoned professionals for their advice.

Going into business for yourself isn’t a matter of building your ego. It’s not about reinventing unnecessary wheels and having to do everything yourself. With an online business as with every other kind of business, your success is going to grow from the company you keep as well as from the work you do. Choose that company wisely, and good luck.

To Your Success,

In order to be highly successful you need to know what causes excitement with your prospects. It is important that you understand why people purchase products and services. When you or writing sales copy, emails and you want a powerful message look closely at the below list. This information was supplied by Dwayne Huggins.

You should know by now that copywriting is a skill that you should embrace. You should definitely not ignore it especially as you are an online marketer. It is your voice online.

Recently I have been soaking up a lot of useful information, some I went looking for, some which came my way by chance.

The copywriting tips I am going to share with you today found me and I am so glad they did.

I would advise that you implement this tip into your copy as soon as possible.

I hope there is ink in your printer as you are going to need to print this.

26 Reasons Why People Buy | Copywriting Tip

To make money
To save money
To save time
To avoid effort
To get more comfort
To achieve greater cleanliness
To attain fuller health
To escape physical pain
To gain praise
To be popular
To attract to the opposite sex
To conserve possessions
To increase enjoyment
To gratify curiosity
To protect family
To be in-style
To have or hold possessions
To satisfy appetite
To emulate others
To avoid trouble
To avoid criticism
To be individual
To protect reputation
To take advantage of opportunities
To have safety
To make work easier
What To Do With This List | Copywriting Tip

This list was complied by Ed Mayor and when you real look at it he as hit the nail on the head with why people buy.

The copywriting tip I have for your today is how to use this list in your copy which will have money flowing into your bank account.

Print it out and place it near your computer screen.

When you sit down to write any sales copy or persuasive copy, consider the factors from the list which best suits why someone would buy your product, service or join you in business.

There will probably be more than one, but stick to 2-3 main key reasons.

As you write your copy, keep coming back to your 2-3 reason in your copy. Do this in different ways, but keep coming back to your chosen reason.

By doing this you keep pushing the readers ‘buying buttons’. Which will obviously increase the chance of you closing the deal.

I hope you found this copywriting tip useful. If you have please share it with others.

To your success,

Here is great information on how to recruit more people using a blog. The article was written by Daegan Smith. He is what he has to say..

One of the biggest mistake I see people making in their blogging efforts is “why” they use them. Most people tend to think of blogging as a primary traffic generation strategy, and it can be, but it’s not THE best use of a blog in our type of business.

You should think of blog traffic more like icing on the cake. The primary and MOST powerful use of starting and using a blog in your business is it’s ability to create a powerful testimonial for you. Let me explain . . .

When I started my first successful business here’s exactly what I did. On an almost daily basis I blogged about something relating to my business, at the top of that blog I would always note the number of people in our team, and then carry on with the message.

Sometimes if I had new recruits I would create a formal blog welcome to my new team mates by listing their names and welcoming them to the team.

If there was a co-op, advertising strategy that was working well for me, you better bet I put in on that blog.

Why? Well, I haven’t told you how I used my blog to recruit yet (we’ll get to that in a second), but along with using a blog to recruit I also constantly referred my team members there for any and all updates on our business.

It was a central meeting point. As a result my team always checked the blog to see what was going on in our business. This was important for two reasons:

First, easy access to important current information pertaining to our team, and second as team wide social proof.

They came to the blog and saw the number of people on the team growing and welcome messages to our new team members and subconsciously it helped raise their belief level about the business they were in.

It’s sometimes easy for a new recruit to get discouraged without encouragement and the blog helped give them that encouragement they needed. As a result they “believed” in the business, and took more proactive action to go out and do what we were doing to grow which translated into a higher rate of duplication in the business and longer retention.

So let’s recap so far, we’ve got a blog where we’re blogging about our team, what we’re doing to advertise, we’re “training” our team members to check the blog often for advice and encouragement and as a result their using that motivation to go out and build. This causes the team to grow faster, stronger, and better.

What do we have? That sounds like a pretty darn powerful testimonial to me. And that’s the primary use of the blog as far as recruiting is concerned as I mentioned earlier.

The mistake most people make is they want to blog for traffic, which you can do, and I’ll share a few tips to doing that better in a few, but not it’s best use for recruiting. Here’s how to use your blog to recruit . . .

I’d generate leads directly to my own lead capture page or my company’s lead capture page. Once I saw my lead opt in I would send them a personal email to tell them a little bit about myself, our team, and our business. In that email I would always include a link to my blog so my prospects could get an inside look at who I and our team was doing.

This is powerful as heck for a couple reasons where recruiting is concerned.

First, people are inherently voyeuristic. They wanna spy, so let them. By sending my prospects to my blog they now had the opportunity to get to know me and my team without me even being there. As a result, when we did have an email correspondence or they called me they already knew me.

I’ve always found this to be a MUCH better option than cold calling leads. I let them get to know me first.

Second reason this is powerful is based on a principle called “The Power Of Documentation” which states we as humans tend to take things which we read as more truthful than things we just hear.

In other words, a prospect who goes to your blog and reads about you and your team is going to take what they read there at face value where if you’re on the phone telling them the same thing they’re most likely saying “Yeah right”

If you’ve ever called leads and had that question come up of “Well why should I join you?” Having and sending your prospects to your blog first will virtually eliminate this objection and ignite powerful curiosity and intrigue about you and what you do.

So, when it comes to using a blog to recruit, it’s best us is as a secondary traffic strategy. You get the lead, then you send them to your blog for a powerful testimonial.

So I can hear the question welling up “What should I put on my blog to start?” Simple, talk about yourself, your company’s products and service, why you love your company, your team, AND here’s a key . . .

Ask your upline or downline to write you a quick note about why it’s great to work with you and put it on your blog.

You do that, and you’ve covered all your bases. Not only are your prospects learning about you, why you like what you do, your personality, your team, BUT they’re also SEEING other people saying great things about you. Third party validation about you is a powerful thing.

Simply doing this and nothing else, I was surprised to see that after about six months of consistent blogging my blog received about 300 site views per day from people finding online via search engines. I did nothing but blog, but just because I had content on the blog I had tons of people finding it for free, and as a result, calls out of the blue from people saying “yeah I found your blog, what’s up with your business” (kinda cool)

So let me share a few things you can do to improve you search engine rankings for you blog posts to enhance your free traffic.

First, do a little keyword research using the Google Keyword tool. Find a few keywords related to business and use those keywords in your blog title, and a few times, along with a few synonyms for that main keyword in your blog post.

One secret strategy that’s really increased my blog traffic personally is using images in my blog.

On blog posts where I insert an image to correspond to the blog post keyword I tend to get about double the traffic. So find a few images related to your blog post keyword.

Name those images as your main keyword, for instance if my blog post was based on the keyword “internet network marketing” then then I would find 3 images I could use for that keyword and I would name the images internet-network-marketing1.jpg, internet-network-marketing2.jpg, internet-network-marketing3.jpg etc.

Search engines rank you based on how many other websites link to your post related to your keywords, so when you create a new blog post, write an article with the same keyword and submit it to the major article directories with a link going back to your main blog post.

Find a few other blogs in the niche and comment on a few post and link back to your blog post.

Create a facebook, twitter, myspace, squidoo account and post some content based on the keyword and link those back to your blog post.

You do that for you blog and you’re ahead of 99% of marketers.

So now that we’ve got traffic down, let’s talk about $$$, how do you make money with your blog? I think the simplest way to make money with blog from the outset is to simply add Google Adsense to each blog post, not so much because you’ll make a ton of cash from it, but when people do click on your Google Adsense ads on your blog you’ll make a few bucks which is powerful positive reinforcement for your efforts in the early going.

It’ll fuel you forward. You’ll see money coming in and you’ll get excited.

The best long term way to make money with your blog though is . . .

Integrating your blog with your email marketing efforts. I love using the one two punch of email marketing and blogging because it allows you to change the dynamic of your email messages to your prospects from a one way conversation to a two way conversation by giving your prospects the ability to comment back to you.

Getting people involved and commenting on your blog is a powerful way to build trust. Think of your blog as a conversation and you’ll see the bond between you and your prospects growing stronger daily and for it your income will increase.

There are two powerful benefits of turning your emails into a blog conversation.

The first is simply when people get involved and proactively comment they’ve taking a powerful step into your world. The second benefit is a little more sneaky, but extremely powerful.

Say you send a prospect to your blog to share an important post today and 15 people comment on that post. Great!

Well what if you take the email that you sent people to your blog and add it to your auto responder?

Now the leads that join your list 3 months from now will get that email automatically via your autoresponder email sequence you set up and when they get to the post not only are they going to get to participate in a conversation you set up on autopilot, but they’ll also see all the people that commented prior and say . . .

“Wow! I just got this email and 15 people already comment there must be a lot of people listening in.” and hence conclude you’re a good teacher and someone a LOT of people listen to.

To your success,

Here is a great article I titled Social Media Do’s And Don’t's. The article was originally written by Tommy DiPirtro. Social Media can be a great way to grow your network marketing business.
It doesn’t matter which type of Social Media you are using whether it is
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, there are many different networks
to chose from.

No matter which type of Social Media you choose, remember your online
personality is not only part of your overall brand, it becomes an
interactive experience for you and your business

There are different combinations that you can use to make
your online presence known.

Here is a list of some Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media to help
promote yourself and cut your overall time online.

When one minute turns into one hour and BEYOND…
Have you ever checked your Facebook account and before you know it
you’ve spent the past three hours playing Bejeweled? You need to focus
on using it to build your business NOT playing games and wasting time.

You should use your time building up your profile, creating your fan page
and building relationships with other network marketers.

DON’T spend all your time doing everything that you never planned on doing,
that includes getting caught up with all the applications that just cause
distractions.

DO make connections with people in your niche, this will
help you build a STRONG social network. It’s a great
opportunity to learn from others around you, especially the heavy hitters
in your Industry. It also gives you a chance to socialize with others and
not make it look like your always trying to MAKE A DEAL or SELL
SOMETHING.

DON’T forget about the other person. There are many times when you
would make a connection and right away not take the time to get to know
that person. You do make to learn about the person you are connecting
with. This is something you can do by:

Reading their profile, it is important to learn about them.
Writing something on their wall
Take the time to make a video introduction
You don’t want to spam others wall with advertising yourself
DO remember there are people around. SO…be careful what you
write on people’s walls, pictures that you are posting and the
groups you are joining. You don’t want the wrong information
out there, it can damage your reputation.

YOU CAN make your profile private, but that really does
defeat the purpose of using Social Media.

It is extremely important to consider what you should and
shouldn’t do when using Social Media to build your network
marketing business. The main idea is to continue using your
current methods and slowly incorporate your Facebook
and Twitter tactics.

And remember…YOU control what you will share in your account,
it can make a HUGE difference in your business when promoting
yourself and spend your time wisely.

To Your Success,
