Have you ever heard this in your business.. You need Tools, Tools, Tools.. Don’t get trapped into thinking you need all this stuff to be successful. I agree some tools are great to have but you don’t need them all. The most important thing you need is your image. You should also have your own personal auto responder, but don’t fall victim to the tool trap.

Here is a great article I titled, do it now. This was written by Tom Hopkins the master. He is one of the most incredible people I follow. I know you will enjoy this.

Self-Discipline really encompasses nearly everything in life. Do you remember in school when you were given 30 days to write a term paper? Did you start it that first night?
Most of us didn’t. Instead, we thought about it every night. “Got to get moving on that ratty project. But I’ve got almost a whole month left–it can wait.” As time goes by, worry about getting a failing grade looms larger in our minds. At first the pain of starting the term paper is greater than our concern about the failing grade, so after a week we still haven’t started. Two weeks go by. What are we doing every night before we go to sleep? Worrying about that F. “I better start. Tomorrow I’ll get moving on it.”

A week before the term paper is due, the F is getting larger–but it’s still not quite large enough to offset the pain of working at preventing it. All of a sudden there are only three days left before it’s due, and at last the F looms larger than the pain of working on the term paper. So we start.

As you lay it out you begin feeling some enthusiasm. “This isn’t bad. I may get an A if I do this and do that.” When you walk in with your paper you’re happy, but you wasted 27 days worrying about starting. In other words, you operated at a deficit emotionally for 27 days when you could have been in the profit column the whole time. Move into the emotional profit column right now; starting today, get your priority tasks and actions handled promptly. Plan your actions, then act on your plans. Apply this determination to every area of your life and it will make an enormous difference in your income, growth rate in business as well as your satisfaction and growth rate personally.

The portrait of a man who was being called the Whiz Kid on Wall Street appeared on the cover of a national magazine many years ago. He was one of the first to put a conglomerate together, and some of the federal laws affecting business in the early 70′s came about because of the trends that his creativity set off. At the time he was 42, he was running one of the largest industrial combines in the country, the conglomerate he had built himself. So the magazine had assigned a journalist and a team of researchers to do an in-depth report on this entrepreneur.

One of the researchers went to the small city the dynamic executive had left 15 years earlier. A few items turned up there about an alcoholic with the same name who had been sleeping on park benches at that time. The researcher passed this information along, and as the journalist was concluding his interview with the Wall Street powerhouse in his plush office, the journalist laughed and said, “Believe it or not, a man with your exact name was sleeping on park benches and getting ousted by the police when you lived in your home town. I guess the poor guy was a real wino. Isn’t that something?”

The president looked up and smiled. “That was me,” he said.

The reporter was flabbergasted. “This can’t be. You’re kidding.”

The president of the conglomerate leaned back in his leather chair and shook his head. “I’m not kidding. The wino sleeping off drinks on park benches was me.”

The journalist stared at him for a moment and realized that the man was telling the truth. He also realized that now he had a whole new story. When his apologies were waved aside, he said, “I have to ask, what made you change?”

Listen to what he said because so many people fit this mold: “When I was sleeping under newspapers in the park 15 years ago, I knew that someday I would do what I’m doing now. I was just waiting until I was ready to start.”

Do you know how many people are like that? “Well, next year’s my year. I’m going to get to work then. You just wait and see–right after the first of the year I’m gonna start shaping up.” But of course the time to get going never quite comes for most people. They have good intentions, but are lacking the two most vital components of any good deed: the motivation to begin and a strategic plan to keep them moving forward.

You see, by not beginning, you’re not risking failure, but you’re also confining yourself to the level of success you currently have. If you’re happy with that, fine. If not, make that plan and get fired up!

If your potential for greater success is nagging at you, don’t wait. Time is flying by so fast. Start today to achieve the greatness you know is within you.

Something that has always interested me about Network Marketing is how people became successful. It took me over 5 months to even earn my first commission check and almost a year to earn enough to even cover my $100 autoship.  Instead of giving up I started talking to successful marketers and trying to figure out what they did on a daily basis and what they felt where the keys to their  success. I met with literally hundreds of people over the next 3 years and also created a strong six figure income with the information I learned. Until recently, I’ve never really been able to share what  I’ve accomplished, because although I had the competency skills to build a Network, I didn’t really know what I knew. I went all over the country talking to various groups and  sharing with them the tools I thought had made me successful.

I now know that none of those systems really resulted in my success. I didn’t understand that until I met with  Dr. Albert Van Dura at Stanford University.

Dr. Van Dura is a former president of the American Psychological Association and has been a Stanford psychologist  for 40 years. He’s written ten Ph.D.-level cognitive psychology  textbooks, and now, in his seventies, he is one of the most  quoted psychologists on the planet.

We spent hours picking the mind of this brilliant man. He was very humble, and willing to admit that the majority of positive  thinking experts are essentially using technology from the Forties and Fifties, ideas form Maxwell Maltz’s book,  Psychocybernetics, and Think and Grow Rich. What we wanted to understand from Dr. Van Dura was: Have  there been as many breakthroughs in the cognitive arena as there have been in other technological areas?

We discovered that, indeed, there have, but no one has been  willing or able to translate these complex books, and the  breakthroughs they contain, into language the masses can understand.

What’s The Best Success System?

There are too many people going around teaching  competency skills when it’s really a question of paradigms that get people to success. Let me tell you what  we’ve learned.

The biggest problem I see in Networking today is ambiguity.  By the time a company gets to a $100 million in sales, they  have 50 or 60 people who are all promoting different systems – videos, audio’s, training materials. Almost every one of them is good. The problem is the ambiguity that results when I sign you up as a new distributor and train you in my process – which worked to get me where I am – and then a week later,  or two months later, another successful leader in the company blasts into town and gives a speech at the Hyatt with a totally  different video and training system. All of those systems are effective, and many of the leaders are making a profit  from selling them.

I’ve talked to a number of company presidents who all say  the same thing: If we could simply get everybody on the same  page, we could get to $10 billion.

So let me make one recommendation I think will help you immensely: Get with the best person upline from you, follow his or her system, and stay with it until you get to a $100,000 a  month. If you have somebody in your company making the kind of revenue you’re interested in making, get involved with them and learn their system. Most systems are good, but the  ambiguity that results from shifting every two to three months is what drives most professionals out of our industry.

Before new paradigms will work, you need to have perseverance in one system.

Dr. Van Dura pointed out to us, over and over again,  an example using companies like IBM or Xerox. What would happen if you were to take their 12 or 20 regional  managers, train them each in a different methodology for marketing their product, and then say, “I want all of  you to go back to your regions, and each month one of you is going to be scheduled into another person’s  region to teach the antithesis of what they’re teaching”?

Within six months, IBM and Xerox would be in Chapter 11! Yet that ambiguity is the very nature of our industry!  Great people walk away from this business, not because  the systems to which they’ve been exposed are ineffectual, but because they’re forced to change effective systems  every two or three months.

Pick a system you like … stay with the company you’re with … and teach your people not to mess with any other systems until they get to the income level they want.

Its just a simple fact my friends that more people would stick with network marketing if they had even a little bit of success in their business. Would you like to excite your network marketing downline. Just follow these simple tips and you will see it create excitement and duplication in your business.

1. Help your people save money in a real way. If you are marketing a product that people actually use on a regular basis saving money should be a no-brainer.

Let me give you a good example. You work in an network marketing company that offers a discount travel card. Since most people travel on a regular basis this is something that they can use to save money with. You can excite them, and help them stick with the program once they realize how much money they are really saving using this travel discount card. The same thing can be true for virtually any network marketing product that people use on an everyday basis from nutritional products to skin care to hundreds of other items.

As long as they are really putting money back in their pocket there is no reason for them to ever drop out of the network marketing company you are in together. The key is to get them using the products and saving on a regular basis.

2. Help them sell products at the retail level. To have an impact on their financial well being most people need to make a few extra hundred dollars a month.

I think many network marketers miss the importance of helping their downline actually retail products. There is good profit to be made in selling the products so why don’t more people do it?

With a little bit of help from their upline more people would retail products. This is especially true with the Internet today where you no longer have to collect money or deliver products to your customers. You can automate much of your selling efforts by just referring people to your retail website.

3. Sponsor new distributors in your peoples downline. If you are in a pay plan that rewards you for working in depth you should thank your network marketing company.

The best network marketing companies today reward you personally for enrolling people by giving you checks on a weekly basis. They also reward you by placing distributors downline from other distributors.

This is one of the great things about network marketing. You help other people build their business and excite them when you place new distributors you enroll downline from yourself.

These are fairly basic ideas yet many network marketers just don’t do them. Work with your downline to help them save money, make money retailing, and sponsoring new distributors underneath them.

Here is a question for you. Do you have people on your team who can really get the job done but they aren’t doing it? Unless you have zero people on your team, the answer is for sure a big YES! This is a long time battle for us in network marketing. So, how can you start motivating your team?

The bad news is this..you can’t motivate anyone just through words alone. You may get them excited, but in reality they have to motivate themselves. They must know their why the purpose for being in the business, then they have to be willing to go out an do whatever is necessary to accomplish that why and purpose.

You also need to keep in mind, people are not all motivated in the same way. I have some people who get excited about the income potential in network marketing. Some on the team just like the idea of earning a few extra hundred dollars a month. The majority are looking for more time freedom and less stress. You need to find out wants important to them and not what’s important to you so you can lead them correctly. Here are just a few ideas for motivating your people:

1. Within 48 hours of the time the sign up, help them develop a solid purpose, set goals based on their why, and set a schedule of activities for the first 30 days.

2. You need to have available a proven marketing system that anyone can do. One that has worked well for the people on my team is to help your new distributors make up a list of 20 people. They then need with your help to contact those 20 people right away. This gives your new team members the opportunity to learn by listening to an upline leader and also the chance that some of these people might be interested in what your business offers.

3. Keep your team members active by providing marketing programs such as social mediamarketing, and online marketing, e-mail marketing, advertising, post card mailings, conference calls, webinars, lead programs, etc.

4. Prepare them for what’s ahead – let them know that there will be tough times and nasty people along the way. Family members and friends may be rude to them at times, because they don’t understand the business.  Let them know that when they are excited and up, they should call their downline and spread that enthusiasm. When they are depressed and down, they should call their upline for help and understanding.

5. Team members love to receive praise and it is one of the best motivators. Constantly recognize your team members for what they are doing. If they make their first contact, let them know what a great job they are doing. When they make their first retail sale or recruit their first person, announce it to the world. As they achieve higher levels, give them the recognition they deserve.

6. Stay in touch with your team on a regular basis. In the beginning, when you only have a couple distributors, this is easy. As your network grows, it becomes more difficult. Contact your new distributors daily for the first 30 days (if possible). Everyone else weekly or at least monthly. Some great ways to leverage your time are the use of e-mail . E-mail allows you to reach groups of people with exciting new information, without a tremendous time or financial  investment, but never forget how important that personal contact is.

The key to motivating your team is to really show them you care about them. Work with your team on a regular basis to help them achieve their why and their goals.

If you want to grow your network marketing business you need a proven, tested 5 step mlm system.  This is what the system I use does for me.  It provides me with the following features.

1. Targeted lead generation

2. Automated prospect follow-up

3. One-on-one relationship building

4. Sponsoring

5. Training

If you have are using a single system to perform all these functions that’s outstanding.  If your MLM company or upline does not provide a system to accomplish these targets, you must set them up yourself.  Take it from me it’s a lot easier to go someplace where they understand these MLM sponsoring secrets and already have an established, tested & proven system.

Here is some information on the sponsoring system that I use.

1. Targeted lead generation.  Why do you want to build the dream for somebody else?  How do you think you’re ever going to make somebody have a dream?  You only want to talk to people who already have the dreams, the goals, and the desire to be successful.  These are the people you want to help get what they want.

Don’t put yourself in the position where you have to convince somebody to get up off the couch, turn off the TV, quit watching the football game and drinking beer. Leave those people alone.

You want to talk to people who have the goals, dreams, desires.  These are the warriors.  These are the people who will build the business, no matter what.  Then your business becomes fun & exciting. You’ll have massive duplication when you work with targeted people.

How do you find them?

You want a lead generation system that brings you the most qualified people.  A lead who is a reader is far more likely to have long-term network marketing success than most other leads you get.  That is who you must target.

How?  You promote a website that has only one objective: capture information.  So when a visitor comes to your site, their only options are signing up or leaving.  And you do your best to make them an offer they cannot refuse.  I prefer to offer a great ebook because, again, leaders are readers.

2. Automated follow-up.  The secret in network marketing is following up with people.  People are busy.  Our lives are busy.  It’s best to have an automated email system going out to these prospects.  You need one written by a professional copywriter who knows how to tweak the mind, answer questions, create a relationship in print.  You want your automated follow-up to create a relationship with ad copy.

3. One-on-one relationship building: your most important MLM sponsoring secret.  Network marketing is a relationship business. You want to sponsor them one at a time and bring them in one at a time.

The only way you can do that is to build a one-on-one relationship with those people.

I’ve seen organizations come online and they recruit, recruit, recruit, using some downline building system.  But none of those people ever upgrade, none of those people ever buy product, because there’s no relationship.  If you ever tried to call one of those people and say, “Hey, I’d like to visit with you -”, they won’t even return a phone call.  Why? They recruited and did not Sponsor.

So it’s most important to have relationships when you’re building the business.  They’ve got to know that you care.  I promise you, if you build people, then people will build your business.

4. Sponsoring…I love that word, “sponsoring.”  See, I take that word differently than most people.  Why?

Because I take YOUR success personally.

So wouldn’t you rather sponsor people that you want to associate with?  My mentor told me, Only sponsor people that you’d want to go on vacation with.

Wow!  How important is that?  Don’t just sponsor somebody who can fog a mirror.  ONLY sponsor people who you really want to build a business with.

5. Training.  Absolutely the lifeblood of your business is teaching, training, coaching & mentoring new people on how to do network marketing.

You’d better have a team website.  You’d better have a step-by-step Action Plan.  You’ve got to train them.

They need to learn the skills of how to do MLM.  That’s critical in the training process.  You can train a dog. But for people, you have to teach them the skills they need to do this business.

Ninety-two per-cent of the world’s population is sales resistant.  They don’t like to sell, don’t like to be sold.  So don’t waste your time studying about the superduper elixir drink, where the ingredients are scraped off the rock by blind leprechauns every other full moon.  Don’t study the product ingredients.

Study people and learn how to listen to people, and you will own your business, and you will own your life.
